Meet Dr. Alan Glendinning – Skin Lesion Specialist GP

We are delighted to welcome Dr Alan Glendinning to Dr Finbar’s Skin Clinic!  With a wealth of experience in dermatology and general practice, Dr Alan brings a passion for patient-centred care and expertise in skin cancer detection.

About Dr Alan

Dr Alan graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2007 and completed his junior doctor years between Craigavon and Belfast. 

He qualified as a GP in 2012, and in 2013 became a GP partner in County Armagh. 

He spends most of his week working there as a dedicated NHS GP, and is heavily involved in teaching and training the next generation of doctors, completing a Masters in Clinical Education in 2021 and having roles as a medical student tutor and GP Trainer.  He also works as a GP Appraiser and an out-of-hours Urgent Care GP.

Dermatology & Skin Lesions

Dr Glendinning has been undertaking dermoscopic assessment of skin lesions for over 10 years, since completing his training with the University of Cardiff.  He is delighted to bring his experience – both in dermatology and as a generalist physician – to the clinic.

In the rare moments when he is not working, he’s usually seen taxiing his young family, escaping to the north coast, or at the Crossfit gym!
