What do you need?

Each option books a different clinic. Choosing the right one means you see the doctor best placed to help, first time.

A spot, mole or lump I'm worried about

Dr Finbar · Dr Ashleigh · Dr Alan

Rapid access for up to three lesions — lumps, moles, marks or bumps you're concerned about. Examined with dermoscopy, and many can be treated the same day.

Not this one if you want a full skin check, or you have a rash, acne, eczema or psoriasis.

A full head-to-toe skin check

Dr Finbar or the team · Dr Alan

A full-body examination of your skin to catch the early signs of skin cancer. Total body photography can be added afterwards, so future changes have something to be compared against.

Worth knowing: a whole-skin check finds things a single-spot appointment can't — including on skin you'd never think to look at yourself.

A rash, acne, eczema or psoriasis

Dr Christine · Dr Rosy · Dr Vanessa

Assessment and treatment for inflammatory skin conditions, from GPs with a Diploma in Dermatology. Isotretinoin can be prescribed where it's clinically appropriate.

Not this one if you need methotrexate or biologics — those are consultant-led and we're unable to provide them.

A repeat prescription

Existing patients only

A medication top-up for something we're already treating you for, handled without an appointment.

Not this one if you haven't been seen at the clinic before, or it's more than 6 months since your last appointment — we can't prescribe for someone we haven't examined recently.

What happens when you come in

No mystery, and no upselling. Here's the shape of a first appointment.

1

We look properly

A history first, then examination with a dermatoscope — a magnifier that shows the structures under the surface you can't see with the naked eye.

2

We tell you what it is

In plain English: what it is, whether it matters, and whether it needs anything doing. Most of the time the answer is reassurance.

3

You decide what's next

Treat it on the day where that's possible, plan surgery for another day, or leave it alone and know exactly what to watch for.

What it costs

Every price on one list, so you know before you book. We don't bill insurers — payment is direct.

Why we consult before we operate

Dr Finbar explains why the first appointment is a consultation rather than the procedure — what's being decided at that visit, and why it matters for what happens next.

Booking questions

Do you take BUPA or other insurance?
We don't bill insurers directly. Our doctors are GPs with a specialism in dermatology, so we sit on the GP register rather than the specialist dermatology register — which is what UK insurers ask for. Payment at the clinic is direct.

Some patients do get reimbursed afterwards by their own insurer — this is more common for patients from the Republic of Ireland, and with certain providers. That's between you and your insurer and it's outside our control, so check with them before you book rather than assuming either way.
Do you see children?
Yes — all of our doctors see patients of any age.
Do you do mole mapping?
Yes — total body photography, 34 high-quality images stored securely so future changes have something to be compared against. It follows a full skin check rather than replacing one, and it's £120.
Do you do allergy or patch testing?
No. Patch testing for contact eczema isn't a service we offer — Belfast Skin Clinic and Cathedral Dermatology in Belfast are the usual places to enquire.
Can I get isotretinoin (Roaccutane)?
Yes, where it's clinically appropriate — our doctors are licensed to prescribe it. It's discussed and monitored through appointments rather than requested in advance.
What if I need to cancel?
Let us know as early as you can. Our cancellation policy sets out the notice we need.

Still not sure which to book?

If you can't tell whether your problem is a lesion or a rash, don't guess — ring us. It takes a minute, and it saves you booking the wrong clinic and waiting again.
