Failure to Attend and Short Notice Cancellation Policy 

At Dr. Finbar's Skin Clinic, we strive to provide high-quality, timely care to all our patients. To ensure the smooth running of our clinic and to accommodate those in need of appointments, we have a strict policy regarding missed appointments (Failure to Attend – FTA) and short-notice cancellations (SNC).

Cancellation Policy

Appointments must be canceled at least one full working day in advance to avoid incurring a fee. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient in need. Patients are informed of this policy at the time of booking online, in their confirmation emails, and in their reminder messages.

Examples:

• If your appointment is on Monday at 9 AM, it must be cancelled by 9 AM on the previous Friday.
• If your appointment is on Wednesday at 5 PM, it must be cancelled by 5 PM on Tuesday.

Appointment Reminders

To help our patients manage their bookings, we provide a comprehensive reminder system:

• Email reminders 96, 48, & 4 hours before your appointment.
• SMS reminder 30 hours before your appointment.

These reminders ensure that you have ample time to adjust or cancel your appointment if necessary.

Fees for Missed or Late Cancellations

If a patient fails to attend (FTA) or cancels at short notice (SNC), a fee will apply:

• A charge of £40 for appointments up to 20 minutes.

Discretionary Waivers

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. In exceptional cases, this fee may be waived at the discretion of the treating doctor.
