Meet Dr. Ashleigh Hewitt – GP with Specialism in Skin Lesion Recognition

We are delighted to welcome Dr Ashleigh Hewitt to Dr Finbar’s Skin Clinic!  With a wealth of experience in dermatology and general practice, Dr Ashleigh brings a passion for skin lesion recognition. 

Dr Hewitt qualified as a doctor from Queen’s University in 2010 and completed her GP training in 2017. 

She has worked as a GP in Armagh since 2018 and has been practising dermoscopy since 2022, following completion of the Cardiff University dermoscopy course.

A note from Dr Ashleigh:

I love my work as a doctor. As a mum to two fun, active girls, I value the balance I have between family life and caring for my patients.

Supporting people on their health journey is a privilege. 

One of the most rewarding aspects of dermoscopy is being able to reassure patients when a lesion is benign — and acting promptly when it is not. 

I believe no concern is too small to check; I would always prefer to see a false alarm than risk missing something significant. Timely, thorough assessment means one less worry on your mind.
